Great news: the neighborhood couple who fostered Cowboy last week are keeping him. They thought about it really carefully, which you like to see. But he's such a sweetheart, and so trainable, one imagines it wasn't an excrutiating decision.
The silver lining to this already-shiny situation is that I get to be, like, a dog aunt. The couple is away this weekend, so Cowboy is staying with me. And after they get back, he'll spend some weekdays here when they're both going to be out all day. In other words: I'm the big winner here.
Overall, fostering has been an interesting experience. I got to connect with a great dog, I met a bunch of terrific people in the neighborhood, and I got a little smarter about posting this sort of thing online. Would definitely buy again. A++++++++.
It's so good to see people opening up their hearts and homes to these beautiful animals. We adopted a pit mix from the Hawaiian Humane Society a few years ago. She is at the center of our hearts and is the sweetest family member we've known. The only regrets we have is not being able to adopt another right now as our cottage home is only 640 sq ft and we only have one couch. Dogs rock! :) Thanks for loving these animals!
